Ho’s Song of the Day-  To finish out this week strong, check out this double feature of great tracks:

1) SZA: Quicksand

SZA is having her moment to shine, having guest spots on new songs from both Maroon 5 and Lorde. But, SZA shines just as brightly on her own, especially on this track from the Insecure Season 2 soundtrack. “Quicksand” brings that classic R&B sound as well as exploring central themes to her debut LP CTRL that fits perfectly well into the narrative of the show. I adore SZA and happy she’s continuing to release great music.

2) BORNS: Sweet Dreams

There is a such a dreamy Americana to BORNS’ work and it certainly helps when you’re working with Emile Haynie (the famed producer of Lana’s Born to Die). I still love hearing his track “Past Lives” and love that he’s continued to released such a steady stream of music. Check out “Sweet Dreams” and get drawn in.

Ho’s Song of the Day- After digesting Queen B’s Lemonade  for the past few days was ready to put “Sorry” as my Song of the Day and favorite track off the album, only to find that it was virtually impossible to share any of the various tracks off the album, which makes sense. Ultimately, I didn’t want to share a specific track off the album because it does work so well as a cohesive whole. Don’t just buy the hype, Queen B delivers big time on a unique and exceptional album.

That being said I had to find a new Song of the Day. I chose a song that I have been playing non-stop these past few days from BORNS called “Past Lives.”
