Song of the Day

Brandy Norwood: Net Worth, Daughter, Age, Albums (Information) - Bigwig Wiki

Credit: Wiki

Ho’s Song of the Day- I find it immensely strange people often say “Oh Brandy? She had that one hit from the 90’s with that one girl? The Boy is Mine right?” In which I promptly correct them with the following: 1) that random girl is Monica, also a 90’s icon in her own right; and 2) Brandy was one of the biggest stars of the 90’s, had her own TV show (move aside Miley) and was Cinderella in a terrible made for TV movie with Whitney Houston as her godmother.

That all aside, Brandy was a mainstay in my home growing up, and I often turn to her discography when I’m struggling with my own crushes and heartbreak. Therefore, I dedicate this Song of the Day to the one and only Brandy, and the heart crushing “Have you Ever.”

BLACKPINK Release New Album: Listen | Pitchfork

Credit: Pitchfork

Ho’s Song of the Day- I get it, when I become passionate about something, I can be a bit annoying about it (apologies to my friends). But of course I was all in for the release of the first full length album from BlackPink.

While I’ve deeply internalized “Lovesick Girls” (cause I just love sad bops sooo very much, that my friends know about me as well), I could not get out “Pretty Savage” out of my head. It’s a perfect send off song I mean with the lyrics “If you get our name wrong, ddu-du-ddu-du hit.” It’s full of the hallmarks of a BlackPink song, attitude, superb production, and if “We some bitches you can’t manage” just isn’t a whole mood, I don’t know what is. Check out their here.

Ho’s Song of the Day- I won’t bore you with the details of how many times I listened to BlackPink’s debut album. I will say, I am loving these up and coming female artists with some serious wit and self-depreciation (thanks for opening the doors Liz Phair), like BENEE. Check out her song with Gus Dapperton called “Supalonely.”
